This is Hans Möller's debut release as a solo artist although he has made music for many years as a member of several projects, most notably Boy Robot with a couple of albums on City Centre Offices.
The title track Strange Science is an atmospheric little club stomper with a catchy bassline you won't get out of your head.
Dribs brings down the tempo significantly in his remix that with an electro infused blip-blop beat and brings that bassline to the front by live tweaking it's frequencies and adds an epic break that invites some serious analog synth sounds to play cat-and-mouse with the bass.
Old Tricks might refer to Hans' extensive involvement in the IDM scene back in the days. Those cute melodies. And melodies and melodies. And a beat that's broken and abstract but still driving.
Mental Soap seduces you 'til the end with a melancholic growling synth melody, a funky midrange focused rhythm and with a squishy bass on top.
