Almost 10 years have passed since the EP and album releases on Ann Aimee / Delsin. Dribs is now back with this 3 tracker and "Prefrontal Hit" starts off with that recognizable soft and beautiful melody that is their trademark. The beat is more straight to the point than before though, electro-ish and even suitable for the afterparty dancefloor.
"Core Techs" is spooky with a distorted kick drum and an aggressive analog bass line. Then those dark powerful strings come in and the rhythm eventually fades out leaving the listener with a mind full of thoughts and reflections.
The broken drumloop of "Dorsolateral of B" is also a typical Dribs element. And it's about the melodies here as well, smooching each other throughout the track.
IDM is back, "Intelligent Dribs Music" that is!
